About Me

I live just out of Nelson, New Zealand with my family on a small farm and I am a qualified early childhood teacher. I love sewing and other fiber crafts. I also enjoy reading, especially books by Terry Pratchett. I collect vintage sewing supplies and tools, and tins. Actually, vintage everything.

Favorite Crafts

I love sewing. I also knit, crochet, spin wool and make cards. I love working with vintage fabrics and recently have been enjoying trying out different things with my big shot die cutter. As well as sewing 1950s style dresses.

Likes

My favourite colours are green and turquoise. I love Cath Kidston, anything vintage, thrift shopping, sewing, buttons, curling up with a good book and a cup of tea, and the idea of getting mail other than bills. I'm a real vintage girl and especially love the 1940s and 1950s.

Dislikes

I'm not really a fan of jewelry sorry, I've got my pearls and that's me set :). I wouldn't by choice choose things with spiders, I'm not a fan of bugs. I'm also not really into kawaii stuff sorry. Just not my taste.

Wish list:

Stationary, ANYTHING CATH KIDSTON (or same stlye), sewing supplies, fabric, notebooks, buttons, handmade stuff, vintage sewing patterns, anything vintage. Surprise me!

Just a little warning:

I think that I should warn you that customs in New Zealand is pretty tight so please don't send me loose leaf tea, leaves, meat products, foliage, untreated wood, feathers etc. Sorry. Also NO KIWI FRUIT due to severe allergy. thanks :)

Comment: great swap! made my day! the address really confused my mother (who picked up the package when the mail came) because the next town over (under a mile from my house) is a town called wakefield also! nice note and your handwriting was not bad, much better than mine actually!
Response: I'm glad to hear that you liked it! I was really worried about how long it would take to reach you. For the last three years I've been studying towards a teaching diploma and all our assignments have to be typed and my handwriting has suffered as a result. I'm glad you liked the bag.

Comment: Thanks so very much for the stationary...I love the selection you sent, and it's such a nice selection! Thanks also for the two really cool postcards of New Zealand. The 6 hours I was at the Auckland airport going to and from Australia didn't allow me to actually visit anywhere in New Zealand and I totally appreciate getting to see a little bit of the countryside in the postcards since it was at night and way too dark to see your country!! Thanks very much and happy swapping!

Sorry about the no sends above, our computer is on shaky ground.

I thought we were the only Willard Price fans in New Zealand. While other parents were reading "Hairy McLeary" to their offspring we were acting out chapters from "Volcano Adventure". Lol.
