My name is Tyler "Bob" (I am female!) and I am a full-time, 4.0 college student from Southern California. When I'm not in class, I love crocheting. My boyfriend doesn't mind it, either. He gets to curl up in all my blankets and play video games when I'll working on my current projects.
I have been crocheting on and off for the last ten years, that's almost half my life. I taught myself with a Boye teach-yourself book when I was about nine years old and it's just something that I've continued to enjoy throughout my life.
At the moment, I just have bags and boxes full of yarn. I seem to always buy it faster than I can use it! I always have some with me, and some days I go through a skein or more of it a day. It all depends on school and how heavy the workload is, though. Crochet is just something I love.
Outside of school, I enjoy video games such as Wurm Online and Minecraft. Also, there are quite a few days when I just curl up with a good book. It really just depends on how I'm feeling for that day and that can fluctuate greatly at my house.
On our property there are four horses, three dogs, a small parrot, and a TON of wildlife. We also have six humans, so things can get enormously stressful in a heartbeat. That's why crochet is so good for me--STRESS RELIEF!
I am an extraordinarily organized and prepared person. I always try to send my swaps within days of my partner assignments and I will never send a swap late without notification. Also, I will ABSOLUTELY NEVER flake on a swap partner.
If for some reason you do not receive your swap item(s) from me, please notify me as soon as possible so that I can make it right. I also ask that you do not leave me any negative feedback until you have contacted me. Like I said, I will be more than willing to amend any problems or hiccups that should arise during a swap.
On a final note, I will always rate and in following the Golden Rule, I will subscribe to the same rating guidelines that I ask for from you. If there is a problem, I will contact you first. If I do not receive a response after an extended period after attempted contact, I will then rate.
NOTE: Please DO NOT send me items that contain smoke smells, animal dander (cats in particular) or coconut. I'm highly allergic.
Hopefully there won't be any hiccups, and fives and hearts will be the only ratings that both sides receive. Here's to good swapping, everyone!
I am not your typical young woman. I'm not a big fan of modern hip hop, R&B, rap, or Top 40.
The types of music that I do enjoy include modern country and classic 60s, 70s, 80s rock and roll. My favorite bands include Journey, Foreigner, (old) Bon Jovi, Pink Floyd, The Doors, The Who, etc.
I love to read, so much so that when I'm fully immersed, I can read over two hundred fifty pages a day.
My favorite authors include Stephen King and Alan Moore. I'm a fan of suspense and even a little bit of horror, but I'm ironically terrified of the dark and 'bad things.' Thus, I don't read these novels at night in the dark.
Other books and series that I enjoy include the Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, Eragon/Inheritance series, Frankenstien, Ilium, The Dark Tower, and COMICS.I'm also a big fan of comics.
Comic books have been a big part of my life since I entered high school. I enjoy independent comics like those from Zenescope Entertainment and I absolutely adore the following series: Iron Man, Batman, and Justice Society of America.
I always tend to have the television on when I am at home, although me being at home is a rare occurrence. My favorite television channels include History, TLC, Discovery, Science, and RFD.
My favorite movies tend to be intellectual thrillers, comic book adaptations, Anthony Hopkins films, and Johnny Depp movies that aren't produced for absolute imbeciles.
My all time favorite movie and series is the new Batman series, though: Batman Begins & The Dark Knight (LOVE LOVE LOVE!)
Other movies that I like are Iron Man, Thor, The Shawshank Redemption, Inception, all Pixar films except Nemo, all Miyazaki films except Totoro, the Pirates of the Caribbean series, V for Vendetta. Watchmen, The Princess Bride, and the Men in Black movies.
I figured it would be helpful for my swap partners if I had a relatively full list of my favorite things on my profile. So, here goes nothing.
All time movie: The Dark Knight
Color: Green, but I love all colors
Characters: Batman, the Joker, Harley Quinn
Comic Company: DC
Hobby: Crochet
Yarn: Red Heart Super Saver
Pastime: Lounging around the house
Animal: Octopi, cuttlefish and turtles
Shoes: 7" Ceetah Print Platform Pumps, Converses
Car: 2009 Dodge Charger & 2011 Camaro, both black on black
Song: Kid Rock's "Cowboy", Blake Shelton's "Who are You When I'm Not Looking" & The Who's "Pinball Wizard"
Also, as a final note, I love off the wall things, crazy patterns, and just overall unique designs. If it's cooky or comics-related I love it!
I hope that helps you all out, Swap partners!
Currently I'm working on a few relatively large projects, all of them crochet. Three of them are personal and one is a birthday present for my Gran.
The piece for my gran is a small lapghan/throw made from turquoise and coffee-brown yarn. I'm using Red Heart Super Saver yarn in Aruba Sea (body) and Coffee (trim). It's about 80% done with this throw and I can't wait to give it to my gran!
All the personal projects that I'm currently working on are going to be queen size, granny square pieces. The first one that I started is about 30% finished and has been nicknamed "Fall Colors." I'm using about seven different colors of Vanna's Choice yarn and plan to use it as a take-with-me blanket and as a winter blanket for my bed.
The second blanket that I'm working on is very similar to "Fall Colors," but it's being made from Red Heart Super Saver yarn. More than likely, it will end up being a Christmas present for my boyfriend this year.
The final blanket that I'm working on intermittently is a queen size scrapghan made from 2.5" granny squares. The blanket will require 900 of these g-squares and my guess is that it will take quite a few months to over a year to finish completely. You should see how much space is taken up by the 250 of these squares so far. It's crazy!
