Description:

I saw two comments saying something like, "wish there were more mandala swaps" so: Make a mandala using at least one stamp for one partner. The mandala should:

  • have a vaguely circular shape,
  • be on square OR rectangular paper between 5x5 inches and 8x8 inches ( a 6x6 mandala sent on paper at least 6 x7 inches would be lovely for those of us who have a collection started in that size),
  • roughly symmetric in 4ths, 5ths, 6ths, 7ths, or
  • made by you (not a resend of someone else's work)
  • have at least one stamp - either a postage stamp, or what I was really thinking of at least one stamped impression. You can have this be the center of the mandala, or one of the roughly symmetrical elements in the design.
  • on stiff paper or backing, at least 98 pound paper or cardstock. You can glue/attach the mandala to backing afterwards if it was created on lighter or thinner paper.
  • Please mail it so that it will stay flat. You may need to include a piece of cardstock or cardboard in the envie.

Mandalas can be a bit daunting to start & some find the first few take more time than they expected. There is no requirement to check your partner's profile so you can start before they are assigned. (if you have time and want to wait so you can check their profile for favorite colors or preferred size, of course that is lovely! but it is not required.)

International swap.
At least a 4.8'rating, unless you are unrated and just starting. (if you are new, please start before partners are assigned, you really do want to complete on time & start well!) This is the first swap I am hosting so please ask questions or contact me if anything is unclear. "Mandalas using at least one stamp" on flickr, with at least 2 using "rubber stamp" images, and one with postage stamps, or a single mandala from that set.

I will angel if necessary. Please contact your partner first but do let me know if there is any problem or issue. I want to promote more mandala swaps - but also want everyone to enjoy creating.

I would also like mine in 6x7 to match the size of the other mandalas I have swapped recently. Thanks!

dawnturtle, I would not call your mandalas mucked up at all!

I can certainly see zentangle influence mixed with the mandala/rangoli/alpana tradition. It is not obvious where a stamp was used from the photos but I think i know.
