red postcards

This is such a fun swap. I have tons of postcards that I've collected from travels over the years, and I had a blast going through them looking for green ones for the last swap. It was a really gloomy day, all grey and rainy, and I had dozens of green postcards in front of me, all looking so lush and cheerful. Red will be lots of fun, too. Very warm!

I make my own postcards. I love to send my own art thru the mail and get someone else's art in return. Postcards are a fun way to do it.

I have had a blast with swap-bot, but the freakin' blinkin' ads are driving my eyes, and my browser, crazy. I've decided not to participate any longer. Just isn't worth the eyestrain.

This swap is a blast and I hope everyone gets some great red postcards. I'm going to stick with postcardx.net and postcrossing.com for my postcard fix for now.

mela, today when I was checking to see if any of the stuff I've sent out has been received, I noticed there aren't any blinking ads. I'm going to monitor the situation and see if maybe my sad complaint has been acted upon and the ads will remain static. I don't like big ads, but if they don't blink, I can stand them :-)

Hey all... Have you guys seen this years LOVE stamps from the US Post Office? They Commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Hershey's Kiss candy. But the best part is the stamp has a large red heart of a deep red background.

Quite perfect for this month's swap!!!

And yes, Traveling Hawkeye, the love stamps are a great choice for this swap :-)

This is my first swap on Swap-Bot, and I'm a postcard junkie so I can't wait to start!

Do we send the postcards as postcards with a message written on it or do we send them blank in an envelope to they can be used?

@ bubl: you could write a greeting, a poem, you could draw something, use stickers..... but don't leave them blank. and usualy no envelope.

lori eb - I know from the hand made cards I've received (and I have got a few!) the ones that I find the best are on some relatively firm card, so they hold up well in the mail :)

today i mailed out postcards to: pookadots, jewelz & barbara. i couldn't wait to get them out, i had fun making them! i hope you like them.

I had fun making mine, too. Now I just hope the USPS doesn't mangle them too much.

I received Ellawitch's postcard last week - thanks a lot! I just uploaded it to the gallery, but I guess I scanned it gigantic! Sorry, hope you can still see what a great job she did on her red postcards.

Tomorrow morning postcards are being sent to Linda Morgan, Melanie, and Amore Cards. I collaged, stamped, and glued all kinds of red stuff. As an earlier poster put it, now I hope the USPS doesn't mangle it too much.... but I guess part of the challenge is to create something that will make it halfway around the world, right? :)

I got three of the nicest post cards. I didn't think that much about it when I signed up, but, just to open the mailbox and get such nice notes and beautiful cards from people I've never even met, really puts a smile on your face! Every time I received one it just made my day!!! Thank you to all of my "partners" for my post cards. I absolutely LOVE them and I have now started a scrapbook to start saving the ones I receive!

Don't fret.... I just got a red postcard today so I'm thinking they aren't lost in the mail... just the post office is taken it's time! (They must want to "share with them selfs?"? My partner even used a first class stamp (not a postage stamp) and it look like she mailed it on 2/7.....what's today 7 weeks later??
