SWL ~ Art Journal Pages Part 1, #1

Part 1 - Exploring textures.

This is Part 1, #1 of the Art Journal Pages SWL project. Let's get started!

Learning base and backgrounds We will create texture using paint, gelli print, oil, crayon, pencil, etc. This swap will encourage you to play around with materials that are used for paint and drawing. We will be creating basic shapes, coloured prints and textures for the theme "Your favourite colour". Pages do not have to include any other materials or details and can be simply shapes, layers of different colours, finger prints & hand prints, layers of doodles, swirls, basic shapes painted or drawn, layers of paint with pencil and oil, etc, or you may use other materials to add extra textures if you wish. We will be covering the entire page with your chosen base material either paint or crayon/pen/pencil. Please keep in mind this is a basic first swap.

• Page 1; Paint (acrylic, gelli print, watercolour, other). Page must feature any paint material as the base and main detail featuring your favourite colour

• Page 2; Crayon, pen, pencil or other non-wet material. Page must feature any of these materials as a base and main detail featuring your favourite colour

• You will be creating both pages but you will only be sending 1 of the pages to your partner. Which page you send is your decision. You may try and make only 1 if you wish but this is a project so please see the forum for full details.

• Page must be no smaller than small postcard size. Any paper or card for your page is welcome. Please do not fold your page in the envelope and include a note for your partner.

• Please rate based on if your partner used the materials, NOT on what your partner has created.

• Any artistic ability and NO artistic ability is required. Everyone is creative here and anyone can do this swap. You are welcome to join in this project at any time.

• Please do your best work and do not send slop.
