Description:

Some call it a junk journal and others call it a glue book. When I searched for a definition I found that a glue book is created only from paper and glue.

So . . . let's begin by folding 8.5"x11" paper in half, ending up with pages measuring 5.5" x 8.5". Decorate 10 single pages with paper and glue (washi tape is made of paper), create a cover from anything you like, and bind it together in some fashion (punched holes and thread/ribbon, sewing, glue, whatever you choose).

There's a tutorial I found HERE of a flip-through to give you some ideas about how yours might look when finished.

Your pages can have themes or simply be random; feel free to create 2-page spreads if you like; each 2-page spread would count as 2 pages.

Your finished glue book should be more a work of art than a place for your partner to journal so there's no need to leave open space for journaling.

If you are assigned an international partner, please feel free to mail your glue book 'opened'; that would be 6 flat pages (10 opened pages = 5 flat pages + cover) and you should be able to mail it affordably

Lots of room for creativity!

I have a question about the number of pages. How many 8.5" x 11" papers do you use? Are the pages doubled? I'm not sure I understand how to start.

Can I use a4 paper?
It's only 8,3" wide, but 11,7" long.

Yes, @Tessssssa that's fine.

Fold three 8.5x11 papers in half; unfold, and stack them together; number the folded page surfaces 1-12. Create a cover and insert your 3 unfolded papers into the cover. Bind the cover to the pages at the center seam. Glue page 1 to the inside of the front cover and glue page 12 to the inside of the back cover. You've now done away with page 1 and page 12 (they are glued to the covers), so your 10 decorated pages will number 2 - 11. I hope this helps!

There is another way to bind the papers with a stacked spine; if you need directions for that, please let me know.
