Description:

February is International Correspondence Writing Month. You can find more about it HERE The goal is to hand write a letter or note and mail or deliver it each day of the month of February. It's a great time to catch up on correspondence, isn't it?! :)

For this swap, we will write (HANDWRITE) each partner a letter or note card and mail it off. This does not have to be an introduction/pen pal letter, but it can be if you wish. If you are looking for a topic, I'll post some suggestions below. The letter can be of any length, as the purpose for the InCoWriMo is to hand write a message each day, but it should be at least a note card in length (no postcards for this swap unless you use 2-3 to write your message and mail them all in one envelope.

You will have 2 weeks to write all of your letters and mail them out. Please don't mark this swap 'sent' until letters to all of your partners have been mailed, and as the aim is for one letter/card to be written and mailed each day, they do not all need to be mailed on the same day. Does that make sense? But all letters should be sent by or on Feb 28th. :)

This swap is International, so please keep that in mind when signing up.

No tuck ins are required, and decoration is fully up to the writer. The goal of this swap is the written word, not the artistic component. You are not required to use stationery, but it is encouraged. Stickers, doodles, washi tape are all acceptable too. :)

I hope you enjoy this type of swap, as April is the Write On Campaign month, and there will be at least one more swap like this, in April. :)

If you have any questions or comments, please direct them to me in a PM.

Possible letter topics and ideas: (You are NOT required to use these topics, they are just ideas to help if you are feeling a bit stuck)

Write a letter describing your dreams last night and what you think they mean

Send a letter with a specific day of the week in mind. For example, Monday. Then write on the envelope: "To be opened only on a monday."

Use a found image or post card and tell your partner a story based on the image.

Talk about a positive experience you've had recently with a business in your community. You can even send a copy to that business. :)

Tell your partner about a teacher you've had - any kind, from school to mentor or yoga teacher - and tell them the kind things they did.

Tell your partner about a product you just found that you like. Maybe send a copy to that company. :)

If you are looking for a few folks to write to before these partners are assigned, the InCoWriMo site does have a place where you can post your address if you'd like someone to write to you, and you can look through entries posted, and find someone to send a letter to. You can find it here: https://incowrimo.org/2019/01/incowrimo-address-exchange-2019/
