Description:

THIS IS ROUND #32

This is a twist on the usual postage stamp chain card. Instead of using new stamps and sending the postcard naked, you put used stamps on send in an envelope, until the writing side of the postcard is full. Once it's full, you send the postcard naked and stamped back to its owner. Stamps used should be off paper, but if they don't like coming off paper (USA forever stamps I'm looking at you...lol) then cut the paper off as close to the stamp as you can without damaging the stamp.

SEE THE SWAP PHOTO TO SEE AN EXAMPLE OF WHAT A COMPLETED CARD LOOKS LIKE :)

Starting a new card:

1: Pick a postcard. Use one that's not too big, as it needs to fit in an envelope.

2: Write your address on the address part of the postcard. This is how the postcard will be returned to you once it is full of stamps. Also write your username somewhere on the card and the round the card was started in.

3: Put 2 used stamps from your country on the message side of the card. I recommend using a glue stick to stick the stamps on.

4: Put the postcard in an envelope, and send it on to your partner. Don't forget to include your username and the swap name on the envelope or a note inside the envelope.

Passing on a card you received in a previous round:

1: Put 2 used stamps from your country on the message side of the card. I recommend using a glue stick to stick the stamps on. Do not write your username on the card as this takes up too much space. Do not put any stamps or write on the picture side of the postcard.

2: Put the postcard in an envelope, and send it on to your partner. Don't forget to include your username and the swap name on the envelope or a note inside the envelope.

Check to make sure you are not sending your partners card back to them as part of the current round. If this is the case, make a new card and save the other card for the next round.

If you have received a card that is full once you have put your stamps on, attach correct postage and send it on to its owner. Then if you don't have a card to send on to have stamps attached, start a new one :)

There will be a new round posted every month or so, once you receive a card from a previous round, sign up for the next round.

You can send up to three cards per round. If you have too many cards that are not full yet, or you are no longer going to participate, please contact me so I can put the extra cards back into rotation.

DO NOT add a new card if you are sending a card that is already in rotation. Only send a new card if you do not have a card to send on in this round.

If you'd like to, join the Used Stamp Chain Card group. I will post updates and send group messages out via there :)

Any questions, just ask! Thanks for your interest in these swaps :)

Aaaaand, we're back! Since it seems mail is somewhat back to normal (well at least here in Australia at least) I figured it's time to restart this series.

I have also started a group called Used Stamp Chain Card where I will post updates when a new round goes up or any other relevant info. Would love to see you there!

Melbourne, Australia has gone back into Stage 3 lockdown for the next 6 weeks, so I have had to extend the dates out on this swap until then. I don't live in Melbourne, but my PO Box is so I don't know how I will go accessing it. I hope that after 6 weeks this lockdown will do the trick and I will be able to access my PO Box!

Sorry everyone, I have to push this swap out again. Here in Victoria, Australia the shit has well and truly hit the fan so our state govt have increased restrictions again. I have extended the date out until September. Sigh

This is a great idea so fun !

Is there any “rule” about the stamps that can go on these? I’m curious

  1. Whether there can be duplicate stamps
  2. Whether vintage and newer postage is allowed
  3. Whether they should be horizontal or portrait, if it matters

Thank you in advance for any guidance

Liiskah 08/31/2020 #

@CookieMomster78 nope, there is no rule. Just as long as they are 'proper' used postage stamps from your country. Hope that helps!

I'm excite to try this!
