Uh oh, we need to send on August 9 for it to be postmarked 8/9/10 (altho I think you have to ask them to do that) but you've got the send date as August 7. Oops!

naddie 05/19/2010 #

I'm a little confused. does this mean that if my postcard is not postmarked on aug 9, 2010, I am not to be rated a 5? perhaps I need to sit out on this because aug 9 is a public holiday :/

naddie 05/19/2010 #

uh. sorry. I didn't realize it was regional >.<

FiWebster 05/19/2010 #

It can't be sent before August 9th? Has to be postmarked for the 9th?

hippofairy 05/19/2010 #

the swap send by date is set as August 7th, but the requirements say August 9th. i would think that the dates need to match?

GabiesMom 05/20/2010 #

Ok sorry I confused everyone, I changed the sign up date to August 7th and the send date August 9th

KarenFife 05/30/2010 #

This is on my watchlist - I'll be signing up later. Sounds like fun!

Is anyone thinking of doing an international one of these? I'd love to get a postcard stamped 8-9-10 :)

KarlaKC 08/ 7/2010 #

EssHaych, I'd be happy to swap with you!

Anyone wondering about the send by date, I believe the point of this swap is to get a postcard postmarked the sequential numbers "8-9-10". So to send it before that date, or after, is missing the cool aspect of the swap. I would think any other date postmarked on the card is not fulfilling the swap requirements and would merit a rating of 3. So we have to be sure to mail it during post office hours cause dropping it in the mailbox the evening of the 9th probably will miss the 8-9-10 postmark.

Thank you KarlaKC for explaining the requirements of the swap :)

Sent today - Post Office said they would hand stamp today's date. Sure hope they do!

moxsapphir 08/ 9/2010 #

Strange, usually they hand cancel right in front of you. I just got back from the P.O., I told them I traded Post Cards and they needed to be handstamped (since today was 8-9-10). They hand stamped them in beautiful red ink (and she picked good spots and made sure they were clear & bright (not blurry). I was very happy. I also used rare promo postcards. I hope my partners like them :)

Mailed my postcards today. A little disappointed that my post office's postmark has the month spelled out instead of being represented numerically, but maybe it'll still look cool.

I handed mine to my mail lady who delivers our mail at work. I asked here to make sure the were stamped with the date......now i'm nervous

moxsapphir 08/12/2010 #

This was the first time I was in a PC Swap with a special date that ALL my partners got the special date - none were late or early (woot!)

aidenromantic 08/13/2010 #

The one lady at the post office got an attitude with me about needing a hand cancel, but the other lady there was like "no problem I'll do it" and stamped all the cards I was mailing out that day even though I only needed the ones for this swap done. I had like 30 cards to go out too.
