I SEE YOU-Googly eye photo postcards

If anyone has a Paperchase near them (I think they have concessions in a lot of Borders bookstores? In the UK at least they have their own shops too), they do googly eyes in different colours! :)

Hi, I'm just wondering how they will stand up to the riggers of the postal system? I know they can squash when just in an envelope with no padding over them :-)

I don't think we are being asked to make the PCs themselves with the eyes...the PCs are supposed to be photos of the weird things with googly eyes on them.

Oh TerryF, I can be sooooo dense, 'v reread it and see I had the wrong end of the stick, so this is going to be so much fun, I will get my care children to help me. Pitty it is now Spring and no toadstools about now just lots of daffodils. Hugs :-)))

4) How do you make a postcard out of a photo? Just glue it to an empty postcard? 6) Should they be sent in an envelope or naked?

I just back my photos with cardstock cut to size and write "postcard" across the top. Then put a line down the middle and write the address on the right and your note on the left. I know that they do sell postcard backs, but I've never used them. These postcards will be sent naked.;0)

I'm sorry, I don't know what you mean by all set.. I have now 4 empty postcards and 15 pairs of googly eyes of 3 different colors and a free afternoon. ;)

OK....I took the bait! There is more entertainment here than meets the "eye" Yuk Yuk. Sorry FarStarr, couldn't control myself. I'm in.

I feel like being in FarStarr's power, too... Every free moment I spend walking around in forest with camera, trying to find objects who would be worth shooting. But sure that's good for my children, as otherwise I'd be too lazy to go for long walks with them every day.

I have really only two questions:

1) Why, oh why did I sign up for this swap?

and

2) Will I ever be able to go to a walk WITHOUT taking along a camera and at least one pair of googly eyes?

I'm sorry, there are just some things i won't do.. even for swap -bot..I can't send these postcards naked, i'll be laughed at, maybe even arrested! The neighbours will move, my husband might lose his job and the kids will be ridiculed at school for years..please, at least let me were a coat to the post office..it's cold here!;)

Hi Sillywickle, Christina & Amypie33 there are lots and lots of eyes on their way to watch you. Gee this was lots and lots of fun to do. DH and my care children and I loved it. hugs FarStarr for thinking of it.

Sometimes putting glued things under heavy books overnight will help flatten them. Also, less glue will keep the paper from wrinkling. I use double stick tape for my postcards an photo ATC's....solves both problems ;)

Got my first postcard today - a turnip, white onions and balls who all SEE ME - from ILoveMVY!

I must say, it looks much better than mine (and not only because it hasn't been messed with glue). Is there some known best way when printing postcards?

And what do you think of it that if one sees his/her postcards have got to partners one will put one's photos into gallery for everyone to see? (Quality will probably be better if original photos end up there, not photos taken of photos.)

Pahasiga- I created created my googlys, took photographs, then took my SD card to one of those photo centers where I was able to manipulate the photo, choose borders, add text and print. Once home I attached postcard backs with double sided sticky tape, used a postcard stamp, addressed them and sent them on their way. A time consuming but major fun creative outlet.

So far I've rec'd a cool blue googly eyed mushroom and a cute googly eyed pumpkin. Thanks swappers for a super fun swap!

How wide is your double-sided tape? Mine is about 1-2 cm I think. Do you put several stripes of it or do you have 2,5" wide tape?

For this project I used the Scotch brand .5" wide tape. I've found it in .75" wide strip size also. I placed strips of tape just inside the perimeter of the card. Then I carefully matched the 4X6 picture to the 4X6 white card and smoothed gently.

Silverfishstudio took it very seriously that postcards must be naked and sent ma a photo of a naked hula dancer! Shame, shame!

It was just a wardrobe malfunction!! :)

And what more, I suspect that it was this hula dancer who met a postcard with cute puppies going to Mexico and took these puppies to me! I wrote about it in forums, too.

Now I have got all my three cards but where are those I sent? :(
