Description:

I hosted a swap like this back in the spring, and I think it's time for another one. I may do these monthly if there seems to be enough interest.

I never really minded doing book reports in school. Writing about what you've read can be fun! So I imagine this swap as a kind of grown-up book report.

Write your partner a letter, at least one page long, about what book (or books) you've been reading lately. How you ended up reading what you're reading, what you liked and didn't like, what you learned, what it reminds you of, whether you recommend it...

Enclose a bookmark (I'm thinking something simple and handmade or a cute freebie from the library, etc., so that this can be a zero-spending swap) for your partner's next reading venture.

Newbies are welcome with a filled-out profile.

Does the letter have to be hand written, or can it be typed? Also, if some people go through the effort to hand make a bookmark, and others just grab a free bookmark from the library...is that fair? =/

Regarding the fairness issue, I think it's fair. Since people know that the free ones are okay, they can take that into account when deciding whether or not to invest time/$$. Personally, I'd rather make one - I love making and sharing crafts. Whatever I get back, I'm fine with.

This is a great swap. As I thoroughly enjoyed the last book I read... can't tell you the title it's a surprise LOL! I love making book-markers too. Thanks....

I generally use my favorite postcards that I received in PC swaps as bookmarks. But I will send a real, but not handmade, bookmark to my partner.

Hi all, sent my letter and bookmark today. Please be patient as it may take a week or so to get it as i live in Australia! :)
