Description:

This is going to be slightly different for me,but I had to jump on this idea that @Candyn29 gave me.. I thought it would go over really well, and I sure hope I am right! 8<)

This is a Journal swap, but done in a slightly different way. You are going to be responsible for your binder/Journal/ Paper Keeper,or whatever you choose to keep your Journal papers in. Myself,I have bought a 3 ring binder, and the 3 holed clear plastic paper savers (is what I call them anyway, but they are called page protectors) to put my pages in.

This is the swap requirements:

You will have 1 partner.

You will create 3 pages(just the front, so you can glue them in an existing journal or if you do not want to buy the binder),with whatever you like. Can be drawings, paintings, chunky stuff, fave poem,song,movie..Whatever.. As long as it is really decorated with color or embellishments..

This will be a monthly swap. I want to make sure everyone has a chance to get at least 20-30 pages (not counting the backs) for your Binder/Journal..

This will be so much fun to have different partners every month to see the different techniques, ideas, and creativity...

if you do a lot of painting, like I do, you will probably need to glue 3 or 4 sheets together to make it sturdier..This will count as 1 (one) sheet.

Postage will be very cheap for this.

MOST of us use 8.5x11 ( the size of printer paper) Composition Notebooks to do our art journals in, so if we use that size, the sheets can be mailed in a large manila envie, or a manila folder that is taped well on each side.. MAKE sure you add something a little sturdier in the package itself,to keep the pages from being bent up..

Making this International. (yay)

DO your best. Please do not just write or type on the pages.

Look on youtube.com for Inspiration if you are at a loss..

NO FLAKERS.

I will Angel one of these if need be,but really think I will not have to

This is not profile based. It is just your imagination. YOUR creativity.

So, have fun ladies and PLEASE comment below if you have any suggestions, ideas that you would like to share..

NO recent 3's and absolutely no ones ATALL.. Sorry.

I will check profiles before I assign partners...

Does it matter if the pages are oriented horizontally or vertically? Also, I think it would be good to check partner profiles before sending pages, so we don't send things that may be offensive to our partner.

I would suggest that if you do the fronts and backs, use thicker paper or use glue stick to adhere 2 pcs of paper together so you know stuff like pen marks and such are concealed, does anyone know what I mean, because I think I've confused my thoughts.

never mind, it's already addressed above.

Such a pity as is I post manilla envy will cost me near 10 dollars to go over seas that is my postage load around $30 opps can't afford that ashame as is cool idea.

sending 3 pages flat should'nt come to that much?

mizvicky 03/20/2011 #

would this be better if we only did one side and leave back blank? this way we could glue the pages to a page in a journal we may already have....

SherriB 03/22/2011 #

I like that idea--we could post here what size our pages should be.

mizvicky 03/23/2011 #

ok changed it to 3 pages.. just fronts...

I do not understand as I have never done one of these swaps before. Do you get it back or what? How does thins work???

toothteri 03/26/2011 #

So excited! I have always wanted to do a journal swap but was restricted by the cost of sending a whole book. Sending a few pages at a time is perfect! Will we have different partners each month?

mizvicky 03/26/2011 #

yes we will.. Fun,huh???? Glad to see all of you!!!

mizvicky 03/26/2011 #

julmc81..No you do not get yours back. You create 3 pages. Send to your partner, and you will get 3 from someone.. Each month we will create 3 or 4 pages and send to a partner, and you will get the same amount back from someone..

Go to youtube.com and put art journal or random journal in the search area to get an idea of what to do..

Have fun with it..

The picture above is one I first did for a Journal swap..See?? I am NO artist but I had a BALL doing that page!!!

This is crazy...I don't have the usual buttons on my screen to either Watch or Join this swap. Any suggestions? Sounds like a lot of fun! Thanks.
