Description:

I was moping around the computer the other day, feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't find a good Christmas swap to join that wasn't full of questionable swappers when voice from the ether said loud and clear: "Stop your whining and design your own damn swap, you sniveling hag!"

So, here I am with my own damn Christmas swap. Aren't you excited?

In this swap, you will buy (or make, if you are so inclined) a Christmas stocking and stuff it to the brim with items that your partner will enjoy. How will you know if they'll enjoy them? I mean, you aren't psychic, right? Well, I'm assuming you can read, and if so, take a good, hard look at their profile, and design the stocking to delight their swapping senses!

Now for the rules:

1) You will have one swap partner, to whom you will send a totally-stuffed Christmas stocking.

2) Stocking will be customized to fit the recipient's profile. Please...take care in designing. No funky Dollar Store items or Christmas-themed items or decorations (unless asked for). This is a stocking that should delight, based on their profile.

3) US Only, and delivery confirmation is a must.

4) Rating of 4.5 or higher, and evidence of contributing positively to higher value swaps.

5) If there are recent "no sends," a history of drama, or a history of non-rating, don't bother signing up.

6) As there seems to be a lot of questions surrounding expected expenditure, the dollar amount of the swap is probably around $15.

And...that's all. Simple right? So what are you waiting for? You know you want a Christmas stocking! Hit that "Sign me up" button now and get in on the Christmas fun!

what do you expect as the minimum amount spent on this?

i really wanna do this, as i am the stocking stuffer at home, it would be nice to actually have a stocking that i didn't fill myself. takes away some of the fun.

I have gotten lots of cute stuff at the dollar store, what is wrong with that? What the minimum spent is the right question to ask? Would like to join in but I am not independantly wealthy either.

Can we send anything that has to do with Christmas, maybe an ornament or something?

I think what Lucy is looking for is to Fill a Stocking with items that are for Christmas such as Braclets,Necklaces,Pens,Notepads,Windsocks,or something that we can use maybe! Not sure so don't quote me on that! As for $ store items ~ Yes some can be nice but not very well made sometimes.Walmart has stuff that is less than $1 also that is nicely made but not sure that is what she is looking for either. LUCY OH LUCY Where are you?? HEHE I am sure that she will answer all your questions as soon as she signs in! Hey can we make it where you send to me?? Darn I know we can't! I know your partner will belucky though!!!

The swap is clear on what is expected and in my humble opinion:

If the terms of a swap don't work for you it's best to wait till you find a swap that matches your criteria. :)

Personally, I said "no dollar store stuff" because a lot of it is junk made in China. The idea isn't to just fill a stocking; the idea is to fill a stocking with stuff your partner would actually enjoy.

The reason I stated no decorations is because this is supposed to be a gift that is geared towards the recipient. This isn't just a stocking filled with random items. It is a stocking filled with stuff your partner would enjoy.

I don't believe anyone could do this for less than $15 - maybe $10 if they already have a large stash of gift items at home (that might actually fit the recipient's likes).

Try to stay away from "Christmas themed" items. Fill the stocking with things your partner could use during the year, and not just at Christmas.

And...Thanks Anam! I thought I was fairly clear myself. I didn't realize there would be so many questions!

How do you find out if you're a "questionable" swapper?

I just hope I'm not on this list..

Personally, I love your "damn" Christmas swap! I, also, hate items from the dollar store! Thanks in advance for arranging this. I will hang it proudly on my mantle and wait for Christmas day!
