I'm a newlywed in my late 20's. I'm currently a homemaker who stays very busy working on the house and tending to my husband's four dogs. I joined the Rhodes College MasterSingers this season, and am very busy practicing lots of new music - I love it! I'm also working toward going to nursing school this fall.

Last year, I put in my first garden since I was a kid. I really enjoyed it, but didn't get much out of it. I'm planning on enriching the soil more this spring, and trying again. I love homegrown produce - there is no substitute! I'm also getting into growing heirloom and native crops/plants, and really enjoying that.

I like to keep things simple and classic. Less is more, a lot of times. Colors I like include cream, deep purple, muted rose, and dark, forest-y green.

Pretty much anything... I have rather eclectic tastes. My favorite authors include (in no particular order) Mercedes Lackey, Jane Austen, Lucy Maud Montgomery, Charles Dickens, Laura Ingalls Wilder, Piers Anthony, Lois McMaster Bujold, Robin McKinley, Georgette Heyer, Agatha Christie, Mary Ann Shaffer... Just about anything!!

My all-time favorite is needlework, especially cross-stitch. I absolutely love samplers and historic-type projects. I also enjoy crocheting, knitting, and quilting as well as watercolor painting, sketching, and general craft-making. I have dabbled in tatting, spinning, bobbin lace and even macrame. I'll try anything at least once!

Classical, soft rock, contemporary Christian, some jazz and blues, light/old country, bluegrass.

Lord of the Rings trilogy, Little Women, Stardust, Anne of Green Gables, anything by Pixar, Cinderella, The Devil Wears Prada, The Princess Diaries, Beauty Shop, Last Holiday, Speed, Die Hard...

We don't get satellite or cable, so I don't watch much TV. I'll catch a show on Hulu or Netflix sometimes, and I enjoy Law & Order and Law & Order: SVU, The Amazing Race, NCIS, Trauma, and nearly anything by HGTV.

COLORS - Like: "nature" colors as well as rose, purple, dark green, cream, etc.

Dislike: "hot" colors (hot pink, etc), orange.

FABRICS - Like: 100% cotton quilting fabric, satin, silk, any of the fancier dressmaking fabrics. Even small pieces of these fabrics are nice, as I make doll clothes with them.

Dislike: Denim, corduroy, "mixed" fabrics (i.e. 10% this, 90% that). Novelty prints (except for Christmas prints), unless that's the theme of the swap, then if they fit the theme, they're great.

SCENTS - Dislike: I have allergies and asthma, and can't handle ANYTHING scented.

OTHER - Like: flowers, gardening, cooking, reading, sewing, scrapbooking...

Dislike: animal themed stuff and anime.
