UPDATE 8-12-21 Hi all. I have been extremely depressed. I have had a 2nd breakup in 12 months, and it's pretty much knocked me off my feet. I didn't log in for something like four months due to stress, anxiety, depression, and then this breakup. I was actually terrified that I'd log in and find a ton of bad ratings or mean messages, despite being FAIRLY SURE that I have left everything in good standing ... The depression and anxiety tend to make me fear the absolute worst.

Finally logged in today, as a first step towards getting back into the swapping. I really miss it. The connections I make with swapping really help with the sadness and loneliness.

If I DID forget something in a swap, tag, letter, etc. during my absence, PLEASE do let me know. I promise you that it was 100% forgetfulness based on my mental health, and I will make it up to you.

For the most part, I'm pretty easy to please. I have very specific tastes and dislikes, but I'm easygoing, and I'm not going to get mad at you if something doesn't suit me, as long as you follow the swap or tag rules. :) However, there are a few things I'd like to note.

I am an agnostic / atheist. You don't have to be so to be my friend, but please don't send me any religious items, whether overt or implied.

Smoke Allergy

Please don't send me anything from a smoking home or that smells of cigarette smoke. I am allergic, and it will cause sneezing, coughing, itchy eyes, and / or asthma attack. Items that come from a smoker's home, even if they were not directly near the person who smokes, can still cause this, and I will more than likely have to throw away what you send, which I really hate to do. Please prepare your swaps in a smoke-free environment.

So, I'm sure you've noticed my four different 3 ratings. All but one of these, I take full responsibility for.

My most recent 3 rating is from 2016. This was received in a swap that I hosted, that I fulfilled according to my own rules, and that I mailed on time. Despite multiple messages to this person, I received not a single reply and was never given any explanation. As you can see, @mariasalas91 has not even been on Swap-Bot since 2016. Further, she last logged in on March 7, 2016, over a month after rating me a 3, so she had plenty of opportunity to let me know her reasons, and she refused to do so. (You can also see that she has eight 3's and a 1, herself.)

When I received this rating, it broke my heart. I had been away from Swap-Bot for several years, and had been working VERY HARD to raise my rating. After she rated me a 3, for no apparent reason at all, and she refused to contact me or explain, I was so upset that I stopped swapping altogether for FOUR YEARS. It was so incredibly heartbreaking to me that in one single moment, she could ruin all the progress I had made, and, to top it off, was too much of a coward to tell me why.

The older 3 ratings are from 2009-2012. This was during one of the darkest periods of my life. Chronic depression, geographic isolation, an unhappy marriage, and physical health problems all led to a very forgetful and absentminded me. While I absolutely do take full responsibility for not sending these swaps by their deadlines, I am asking for your kindness and understanding. These swaps were from a long time ago, and my life is completely different now. I am in a much happier, healthier place, and I will, 100%, get your swap out on time.

To those who have been my friends and swap partners ever since, I appreciate you so much! You have taught me to love swapping again, and you constantly help me raise my overall rating. You rock. TYSM!
