NOTE: I'm not participating many swaps at this moment (busy life). But if you like to do a private swap, I always make time for those. I love creating mailart envelopes and I love papercrafts, like creating flipbooks, accordion books and pocket letters.

Hi there!

My name is Marit, I'm 27 years old and I live in the Netherlands in the city of Rotterdam. I have my Social Studies degree and now I'm studying to become an energetic therapist. I just started my own Etsy shop and I'm really excited about it! Sending Happy Mail around the world really makes me happy :)

My hobbies are:

• traveling, I love to see the world (I've seen a lot of European countries and cities, I made 2 big trips, one to Canada and one to the USA).

• reading, most of the time I read Dutch literature.

• writing, I keep a journal, I write stories and I have some penpals to write large letters to.

• cooking, spending time in the kitchen makes me happy. I cook only with fresh and natural ingredients, I'm allergic to gluten, milk and eggs. I enjoy creating new dishes and my favourite foods are fruits and veggies!

• hiking, I really like spending time in nature, it calmes me to be outside. I like hiking in the forrest, but I also like making long beach walks.

• crafting, when I'm crafting I feel a little girl again, I love being creative.

• photography, I like taking pictures, but also to look at pictures others took.

• making videos, I've 2 cameras to capture the world around me on tape, one of them is an action cam (I like outside sports) the other one is a small HD-camcorder. I make videos when I travel, and on small trips in The Netherlands.

I try to live with a postive sence and to find my happiness not only in big things, but also in all small things and everything I do :)

I wrote down my hobbies, but here are some other things I really like!

I really like:

• owls, I collect owls since I was little.

• fairytales, I love fairytales and magic worlds.

• childbook illustrations, I like to see what childbook illustrations are typical in each country.

• I'm really into spirituality, I like meditation & yoga, Buddhism, Asian temples, Japanese gardens and other zen related things!

• drinking tea, especially herbal tea. I love to get herbal teas, different rooibos flavours or other special flavoured teas. My favourite brands are: Yogi tea, Pukka, The English Tea Shop, Shoti Maa. I like it when teabags look cute/colorful. I don't drink normal teas like English breakfast tea, darjeeling, ceylon, plain green tea, I drink these teas only if they have a special flavour added.

• color, I love colors!

• stationary, like stickers & washi-tape, I love decorating letters and postcards with these! I also really like cute letter sheets.

To do myself:

I really enjoy making my own enveloppes. I love paper and I make enveloppes out of everything I found I think looks pretty as an envelope. I also love making Pocket Letters and special flipbooks. I enjoy paper crafts the most, but I also like drawing, especially drawing doodles.

To receive:

I appreciate all creative creations. If someone puts effort in making something for me, I really like that.

If you send me a letter or a postcard I really like to get to know you! If a swap askes for a blank postcard, I still really like you to write on it/decorate it. I also don't mind if you send me a card in an envelope, even if the swap asks for 'sending naked'.

I like almost all sorts of music, but my favourite music is folk. I love Simon & Garfunkel! I really like singer-songwriters, I like it when lyrics are sensitive and when you hear someone's singing with all their heart. On my playlist at this moment: Dotan, Passenger, Of Monsters and Man, Plain White T's and Boyce Avenue.

I don't watch television that much. But when I do, most of the time I watch series on Netflix. My favourite series are fantasy, like Game of Thrones, Grimm, Once Upon a Time, Fringe, Lost Girl.

But I also like: The Walking Dead, Orange is the New Black, Homeland, Prison Break, House of cards, ect.
