Hello!

I'm Aini from Indonesia. I'm studying English Literature in uni and I love everything about books; not only the stories they contain, but also the texture and smell of the paper. The first thing I do when I open a book is sniff the pages. Mmmm.

Languages also interest me. I'm a grammar freak in my native language and I love editing other people's work (although I'm not confident to do it in English yet). I like to write but I really hate trying to find names for my characters. I've also participated in NaNoWriMo a couple of times but have never won.

I first got into swapping from the postcard swapping forum in the 2011 NaNoWriMo. From there I was introduced to Postcrossing, which finally led me to Swap-bot.

The post here is really unpredictable. Sometimes it can only take a couple of days, but other times it can take up to 3 months to send things overseas - especially since I use stamps, not express packets, to send postcards and letters. I hope you will be patient and message me if a swap from me has not arrived yet. :)

I love to read and I love series! Some of my favourites are Harry Potter, A Series of Unfortunate Events, The Bartimaeus Trilogy, Percy Jackson and the Olympians, Animorphs, Everworld, and The Three Investigators. I also love Sputnik Sweetheart, Alive, Into Thin Air, Jurassic Park, Water Wings, and anything else by Morris Gleitzman, Agatha Christie and Astrid Lindgren.

Lately I've been trying to read books outside my comfort zone, and I've found new favourites in Anna Karenina and The World According to Garp.

From my classes I've also found enjoyment in reading short stories. Some of my favourites are The Snows of Kilimanjaro by Ernest Hemingway and Silence by Alice Munro.

21 Grams, 28 Days Later, Another Earth, Be Kind Rewind, The Cat Returns, The Dark Knight, Dawn of the Dead, Dead Poets Society, The Hobbit, Jurassic Park, Let Me In, Life is Beautiful, The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers, Magnolia, Matchstick Men, Meet the Robinsons, Monsters Inc., Pan's Labyrinth, The Prestige, The Royal Tenenbaums, Serendipity, Son Of Rambow, Spiderman, Spirited Away, Terminator 2, Where The Wild Things Are, X-Men 2, You've Got Mail.

Some shows that I'm currently following are Modern Family, Once Upon a Time, Running Man (a Korean variety show), Sherlock (BBC), Adventure Time, Glee, and The Walking Dead.

While some of my all-time favourites that I don't watch anymore are The Simpsons; Survivor; Doraemon; Dragonball Z; Cardcaptor Sakura; Law and Order; Avatar: The Legend of Aang; Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles; Samurai X; Rove Live; Full House (the Korean drama series); and Kera Sakti (Sun Go Kong).

I listen to a variety of things, but I mostly listen to pop music - I like my music to be easy listening. Some of my favourite artists are Lady Gaga, Florence + the Machine, Regina Spektor, A Fine Frenzy, Birdy, Ellie Goulding, Taylor Swift, Leona Lewis, Sugababes, All Saints, Robyn, Marina and the Diamonds... Hmm, strangely they all seem to be female musicians :/

I just recently discovered this Korean boyband called Big Bang. They're pretty awesome, their music is a mix of pop-hip-hop. Their leader, G-Dragon's, solo project is also worth a listen.

I also love soundtracks, whether they're a compilation from different singers/bands or instrumental. The only way I can listen to instrumental music is if I heard it first in a movie/TV show. Some of my favourite movie soundtracks are Another Earth, Where the Wild Things Are, The Lion King, Kick Ass, and Sucker Punch. While my favourite TV soundtracks are from Cardcaptor Sakura, Samurai X, Glee, Full House (the Korean TV series), and Nodame Cantabile.

• Origami, especially paper cranes (I've started making 1000 paper cranes for over 2 years now, and am still stuck in the 600's)

• Water (the ocean, rivers, lakes, drinking water, rainwater, wave and liquid patterns, water-bending, etc.)
• Languages (I'm currently teaching myself Italian and the Korean alphabet)
• Muggle quidditch (I don't play, but I watch it a lot on Youtube)
• Cats and anything cat-related - I'm a cat-person even though I don't any cats
• Animal print
• Zombies (including Plants vs. Zombies!)
• Sudoku
• Tetris
• Chips (the old game on Windows 95)
• Word games and puzzles
• Eyeliner (I like to experiment with cat eyes and smokey eyes)
• Cooking (I'm not a very good cook, but at least the things I cook are edible, heheh)

• religious items (but it's okay if you want to write about (your) religion in letters, postcards, notes)
• food/drinks containing alcohol
• food containing pork.

These are just some things that I think other people would appreciate more than I would. :)
