I'm a twenty something, drifty dreamer who floats around the world seeing life through the lens. I work as a cosplay photographer and as a professional writer (of comic books and as a journalist of "geek culture") and I am a gigantic geek in every way possible. I'm a fairly recent transplant to Seattle and find myself wandering for hours every day with my dog, camera in hand, finding the strange beautiful underbellies in life that other people fail to notice.

I'm a very passionate, happy person. Life is my playground. I love what I do and I love the people in my life. I am a serial traveler and more often than not I am not at home; instead I am globe trotting and wrecking general havoc in other states and countries. My boyfriend is a professional comic book artist who travels far and wide for exhibitions and conventions, and I have the good fortune to tag along with him. The only downfall to this "can't sit still" lifestyle is that I have to leave my dog behind, who is the absolute four legged love of my life. Her name is Sushi and she is a 4lb Pomeranian. She means everything to me.

I'm originally from Alaska, so that state sits very close to my heart... literally. I have the shape of the state tattooed on my left shoulder, so it's close to my heart, always. On the topic of tattoos, I am a connoisseur of body art. I currently have seven tattoos and counting. I believe my body is a canvas waiting to be filled.

I'm married to my camera(s). I collect all manner of things, especially vintage/cute clothes and interesting jewelry. My house is full of comic books and toys, giving the loose impression that a 12 year old boy lives there when it's just me (and soon, my fantastic boyfriend!).

I've lived in Japan. In my (very limited) spare time, I partake in alternative modeling. I really like to cosplay but since I'm always the photographer I don't do it as often as I would like to. I resemble a tattooed Mary Jane Watson (from Spider-man). I enjoy a good cupcake. I'm a pescitarian (I only eat fish). I have a Harry Potter tattoo. I love to garden and can't wait until Ben (my boyfriend) and I settle down enough that I can have chickens again (I was raised on a farm).

I am completely enchanted with the romanticism of snail mail and I've been collecting hundreds of postcards for about a year now. I have shoe boxes full and when I am feeling a little under the weather I sit on the floor and spread them around me and seeing all the beautiful images and words cheers me up.

As I've previously mentioned, I'm a little obsessed with postcards (see: alot obsessed). Whenever I travel for my photo work, every gas station or town I stop in I buy blank ones, and I have piles upon piles of received cards. I love the character of cards that are "naked" - that is, stamped and written upon, so that is my preference always.

I listen to music from the moment I get out of bed to the second I go to sleep. As I work from home, it's basically my lifeblood and what keeps me going throughout the day. I was a radio DJ in a college and therefore devoured tunes with a voracious appetite for years. I still have the same attitude of "listen to everything with an open mind, decide if like, ridicule wildly if hate". I'm a tiny bit pretentious about music but age seems to have cured that... a little bit.

Most people say they listen to everything. I suppose that's true for me, in a way, but my exception is that I listen to everything GOOD. However, I do tend to lean towards some genres more than others:

As a writer, I find that I always seem to write better when I have been indulging in good literature. Therefore, I am constantly trying to read good things (recommendations are always welcomed!)

I used to read a lot of fantasy but that has waned recently, as I've become much more picky. I enjoy a good jaunt into the fantastic more often than not, however. Despite this, I absolutely cannot stand Twilight and have very strong opinions on why I think it's a crap piece of literature and is setting feminism back decades.

My life in 2009 was so horrible that I barely got through it alive. I missed some swaps because I was SO BROKE I was evicted from my house and didn't have internet, let alone the money for stamps. I will do everything in my power to make it up to the people I let down. Swap-bot is one of my favourite things in the world, and the fact that I am being regarded as a potential threat to swaps has me sobbing over my keyboard. One of the few things that keeps me sane is snail mail and connections with random strangers. I am not trying to pull the wool over anyone's eyes, I genuinely love postcards and swapping and I don't want this taken away from me.

I have a steady job and income now which means I will never ever not send a swap out again. I am 99% sure I sent out the majority of the swaps I missed (although it's months and months and months late) but if I missed anyone I will make it up to you.

Please don't treat me like some dishonest idiot. I am not.

Most of the swaps I didn't send are now closed, which means that I cannot get the addresses. If you never received something from me, please send me a (nice) message, what swap it was, and your address. I am going to try and message everyone but I might miss some people. Your help would be appreciated so I can get back into the swing of things here. ♥

UPDATE 01/2011:

I've sent out all the cards I owe as far as I know, but only a couple of people have rated me :-/ I'm waiting, but I fear a lot of people may have quit swap-bot.
