After some bad experiences with swaps last year, I completely gave up on swapping. It was completely my fault and I very much regret flaking on the swaps that I gave up on. I'm working to make those right.

I'm a curly-haired, sarcastic native New Yorker. I teach English Language Arts to 8th Graders in Brooklyn. I also currently run our school's Arts and Crafts club.

I'm married and we have two dogs. Cole and Wilbur are bullie mixes that we adopted from a local rescue.

I'm an avid writer and reader. I love art, music, movies, TV, talking, travel and generally being creative.

Crafts: card-making, ATCs, postcards, bookmark making, sewing, beading, lucky parcels, complicated swaps, gel pens, translucent, textured and dimensional stickers, decoupage, embroidering, beading, postcards, buttons.

Colors and Patterns: Anything purple, espescially dark purple, most earth tones (green, brown, blue), stripes and polka dots.

Foods and Flavors Dark chocolate, sushi, spicy foods, sweet/savory combos, fruit flavored teas.

Scents and Smells: Anything floral gives me serious allergy issues. I love earthy, fall scents: pumpkin, cranberry, apple, cinnamon, etc.

Random Loves: Walt Disney World, Pixar movies, Sheriff Woody, my iPhone, England and in particular London, Ireland, roadtrips, lip gloss, Donna Noble's wardrobe, musicals, slash, science fiction, sleeping, bubble bath, cooking.

In general, I think I'm pretty easy to please.

Anything floral scented gives me allergy issues. Products that are non-hypoallergenic, also due to allergy issues.

Things that involve 800 steps to put together - I like putting things together and doing things myself, but don't have a lot of free time.

Anything tacky or done half-heartedly, especially anything that is just basically a sticker on a page.

Favorite books include The Handmaid's Tale (Margaret Atwood), The Blind Assassin (Margaret Atwood), In Her Shoes (Jennifer Weiner), The Stand (Stephen King), Pride and Prejudice (Jane Austen), Tales of the City (Armisted Maupin), Kitchen Confidential (Anthony Bourdain). I also love poetry, especially Marie Howe, Sharon Olds, e.e. cummings, Lucille Clifton.

I also love books by Jennifer Lancaster, Meg Cabot, Helen Fielding and others. I also enjoy Stephenie Meyer's Twilight saga. My favorite book of them is New Moon.

My job requires I be up to date on Young Adult literature so I'm often reading those as well.
