Now that we have that out of the way...

My family currently lives on a small hobby-farm in Mid-Missouri, where we raise chickens, Siberian Huskeys and a few stray cats! I spent summers on my grandparents' farm while growing up (hated it then!), but now, I love living in the country. My other-half is a draftsman, and typical "city boy" who is learning the ins & outs of growing through trial and error! He built an awesome greenhouse and raises produce for us to use and to sell at the local Farmers Market.

I am lucky enough to be able to work from home, but also have an alterations shop in our town where I meet with clients, can sell my craft items and offer cooking/crafting classes. I love to travel, and we go to Renaissance festivals all over the U.S.

My favorite colors are purples, pinks, lime green (yikes!), blues and deep grey. I love the smells of lilac, lavender, things baking/cooking, cherry and vanilla. In general, I'm a huge foodie, chocoholic and tea lover! (The best flavor is hot chocolate with Bailey's Irish Creme...wow!) I enjoy all kinds of flowers, dragonflys, hummingbirds and everything Celtic.

I have 2 grown daughters (ages 19 & 31) and 3 grandkids (2 girls ages 6 & 4 and a boy age 2) that live close by, and my "better half" (as he tells people!) has a 14 yr old son that lives with us.

I'll listen to anything but rap and "mad / icky" music as my oldest granddaughter calls it! My favorite is old rock & roll. I could listen to it anytime! I really enjoy music by the group Celtic Woman also.

Cookbooks, of course. (No joke...they're my bedtime reading choice! I've always enjoyed cooking, and am always looking for new dishes to try...and the boys are always willing guinea pigs!) My latest project is compiling copies of my favorite recipes for all of the kids to have.

As for "regular" books, I also like to read true crime stories, historical and modern romances, crafting books, gardening and DIY/how-to books.

I started crafting in 4-H years ago and have loved it ever since! I'm game to try any project once...though I've never mastered quilting, crochet or knitting (though I can whip out a mean granny-square if I have to)!!!

My favorite crafts are: "food crafting." I've been a cake decorator for 30+ yrs, and am currently a volunteer baker for Icing Smiles.org

I enjoy all sewing projects (especially costuming), small-craft painting, woodworking and projects that involve recycling items.

I found an awesome quote by writer Maya Angelou, "If you learn... teach, if you have...give." I hope that what I'm passing on is helpful to others or at least sparks an interest in them to explore new avenues!
