Description:

So I recently joined Miss Brenda's swap where she did this packing tape transfer technique on an ATC, and I had so much fun that I thought we could do the packing tape transfer technique here too. For this swap, you will make a packing tape transfer and then use it on a project for your partner. You can make a card (envelope not required), ATC, journal card, tag, or MemoryDex, etc. You can make anything as long as it has a packing tape transfer somewhere on the project. To make the transfer all you do is find an image that you want to use in a magazine, book, calendar, etc. and then place the packing tape on top of the image. It is recommended to use heavy duty packing tape as it is said to work best. You then put the packing tape with the image in water and let it soak or run it under water until all the paper comes off of the tape and all that is left on the tape is the image you chose. My packing tape didn't feel real sticky after getting all the paper off the back, but it was still sticky enough to adhere to the ATC's and not come off, so I didn't need to use other adhesive. Warning: It is really fun and addictive - lol! NOTE: The pictures above are the ATC's that I made for the swap I was in. The hummingbird ATC has the packing tape from a calendar that had a wisteria tree. I then decorated the ATC with a decoupage wisteria image and a hummingbird. The nature ATC is packing tape from a travel ad that I then adhered to a blue background that really made the colors pop and the suitcase/travel ATC's packing tape was also from a travel ad which I then placed on top of a map and decorated with a compass and words. If you need inspiration or a tutorial for more instruction on the technique, you can find it on Pinterest or Youtube. If you have any questions, message me on swap-bot as I will see that sooner than if you leave a comment below. Please do your best work. Be creative and have fun! ☺
